When playing our goodnight game titled the "be right back game" Eliana asked when I come check on her again. I went to her door and asked El "how are you doing?" to which she replied "great Mom. Just great. I am so happy I could just throw up!" OK.

And Ari keeps coming out of his room "for more love. I ran out of love".

So, lets see what happened today. The love affair with Jack the Cat continues. At breakfast Eliana told Ari that she will not marry him anymore. Don't remember the details, but that was the big end to their interchange. They are hysterical.

Accidentally Ari bumped the remote control while Eliana was unwinding and watching a show and it turned to a station with a detective show on. Next thing you know Eliana is hysterical because there is a gun and the "police are going to kill someone!". I have never seen her so upset. It is amazing how sensitive she is to that stuff. It really makes you realize that the kids are confident and comfortable but they are protected. When that protection is not there, they are very vulnerable because they cannot handle much of what goes on. So I feel by keeping their world safe and managed, they have the freedom to feel confident. I imagine a child exposed to scary things frequently would be very insecure because the world as we know it is just too much to process.

"Mom, you have old skin. But I am not going to get rid of you." and "OK. Be safe. Don't let in any bad guys or pet cats. Goodnight." Wisdom of a three year old.

"That's it. We are all changing our names. Eliana, you are now Seraphina Louise. And Ari, you are now Jack Hudson."

Ari then exclaimed, "and Mommy, you are now SUPERMOMMY!!!" Works for me!!!

So Ari's new way to get out of his room when he should be in bed? You ever get the feeling there is a three foot person staring at you from a darkened room? Yeah, there is. "Hey Mom? Can I give you one more hug and kiss?" Hmmm... Seemed very endearing, until I realized this is his "sell" to get out of bed. While you are giving him one last hug and kiss he quickly tries to introduce new conversation topic that may divert your attention from that pesky "long nap" as he calls nighttime. If that kid is not up to something... He is so mischievous, and I must be his mother because when I am not pulling my hair out I find it absolutely adorable.

Well, I figure I will give this a try!!! Easier than sending out a zillion emails to keep everyone up to date with our lives. Afterall, our family and friends are scattered all over so it is hard to keep in touch. Enjoy!!!
